History
Greater Works Center was started over 15 years ago in the home of Pastor Jermaine Nichols and Lady Nicole Nichols. After becoming an ordained Minister, Pastor J went on to co-found a church. One day, as he began to really ask God to reveal himself in the scripture, he began to really see what was being said. His “fire and brimstone” teaching turned to teaching about the love of Christ. After some time, he decided to leave the church he helped to found and started on a journey to find a place where the love of CHrist was being taught. He and his wife were just going to sit in the pew and learn. After desperately searching and finding nothing but gimmicks, the couple decided that they would simply go to the park with their 4 year old son and read the bible and that would be their “church”. A funny thing happened that Sunday. Several members from the old church that he founded, knocked on their door and stated “We want to hear more about that love thing you have been preaching”, as a result, that asked him to lead them. Pastor J said give him 40 days to think about it and at the end of that 40 days, Greater Works Center was started. First meeting in the home of Pastor J and Lady Nicole, then later moving to a movie theater, then several schools (Winget Park Elementary and Rivergate Elementary) before moving to its current location at Regent Parkway in Fort Mill SC.
A lot of people don't know that Greater Works was supposed to be a movement and not a church. Pastor J was all churched out. And when thought movement, he meant a movement back to Christ to get away from all of the prosperity preaching or the way you have to water down to just being self-help, but a movement back to Christ as love, because God is love.
We can not wait to see what God is going to do next!
